I begged.

I called.
"We can leave here together, just like you always wanted,"
I pleaded.
But there was no response.
You looked at me like I was a fool.
You smiled.
You smiled like the Joker,
Ghastly and psychotic.
"Why are you doing this? Don't you love me?"
I cried.
"Silly, stupid boy,"
She giggled.
"Your love is a lie."

I hung my head.
My heart and soul cried.

It's true I used to be strong,
but now I begin to break.
There's only so much disappointment
a heart like mine can take.
Questions of an Aching HeartHow could you ever love a thing like me?
How could you even stand
to sit there and comfort me?
I was a fool to dream.
I was a fool to let that glimmer of hope
stirr once more in my heart.
How could you love someone
you've never even talked to?
How could your day ever possibly
be brighter
just because I'm in it?
I'm a creature of darkness.

Fairytale NightmaresI make up stories in my head--
Fairytales of the way my life should be.
I spend my time wishing
Instead of actually living.

The stories play through and through:
Love at first sight--
Happily ever afters all complete.
And I lose myself.

Things get rough and I fall deeper.
The fairytales twist.
Monsters come creeping through the dusk
And I can't escape.

Love at first sight and happy endings
Become nothing but a living nightmare.
I'm so lost in the stories in my head
That I can't separate real from make-believe.

I no longer have control.
Sometimes I wonder
If I ever had control at all...
Of the fairytale nightmare my life has
More than my best friend
You were with me from the very start

And you were my very first true friend

You helped me open up

And made me not afraid of smiling

You made me laugh

When the tears wouldn’t cease

We grew older

And as we grew, we grew closer and closer

You told me that love was real

When I started to believe that no one would love me

You proved to me that I’m more than what people say

And that those people who teased and made fun of me were wrong

You’ve been with me from the very beginning

And I’m glad that we grew closer to one another

To some, you’re just a friend

Writers Are Artists, TooArt is more than just a drawing on a page or hours of work put into designing something on the computer.  To me, true art comes in the form of words.

There is something truly magical and breathtaking about someone who can weave words together in such a way that they are able to paint a picture before our very eyes..sending us to places we could only have imagined in our wildest dreams.  There is definitely something to be said for someone who can rouse emotions in our hearts that perhaps we did not even realize were there until words brought them forth.  Writers who can make you cry, or laugh, or simply remember

To Quint...thank you for always being my angel. A fallen angel, perhaps...a dark angel...but an angel none-the-less. I only wish there was some way to repay you for what you have done for me. I only wish I could find the right words to thank you properly for everything you've done. I hope this poem is enough for now. I don't know where I'd be without you.

I wrote this poem a little more than a year and a half ago...for my best friend in the entire world.
